Adzuki Bean Skin Scrub – Exfoliate Asian Beauty Secret

Beans on your face? What? Yes, we are putting beans on our faces, and you will want to do it too.

Here’s why:  The Adzuki Bean is a.k.a. as the KING of Beans and contains these very useful minerals/vitamins:   Folate, potassium, magnesium, zinc, high in protein.   Just eating half a cup of these magical beans a day would benefit your liver, and digestive system immensely. When your liver and gut are “clean” your skin will glow!  ok?  So eat them.  Now back to your face and putting beans on it.

Adzuki bean skin scrub The scientific name of this bean is Vigna angularis, and it grows annually.

The Japanese are very well known for their flawless skin. They have traditionally used natural botanicals and elements from the earth within their skin care regimens. Japanese men and women exfoliate gently using grains such as adzuki beans & rice bran, mineral rich clays from the earth, powdered sea vegetables that draw out toxins from the skin and powdered herbs. They moisturize using botanical oils such as Jojoba and Camellia oil and nourish the skin with apple cider vinegar, herbal teas, extracts and nutritive oils.

I formulated a beautiful exfoliator with Organic Adzuki Beans and Organic Rice Bran ( Rice Bran is the nutrient-rich outer layer that surrounds the endosperm of whole grain brown rice) and contains skin loving magnesium, phosphorus, manganese, selenium, iron, folic acid, thiamine and niacin (VITAMIN B3).  Rice Bran also boasts B15, a vital antioxidant. as well as Co-Enzyme Q10, Omega 3 and Omega 6 Fatty Acids and even Oleic Acid also found in olive oil. These two superfoods are loaded with nutrients and minerals that your skin will LOVE.

Simply put, this “simple” pure, organic mixture polishes away dead skin cells, clears pores, rejuvenates the skin leaving an after glow that you will enjoy.  This is a must have skin food to feed your skin.

How to use it in your skin regimen:  After cleansing your skin (The Oil Cleansing Method is a good way to do this), leaving your face damp.

  1. Shake out an amount equal to a quarter
  2. dampen this with a few drops of water (or liquid of choice i.e. milk, yogurt, honey)
  3. Work into a paste with a finger
  4. Now apply dabs of it to cheeks, chin and forehead (your skin is damp)
  5. Massage gently in circular upward motions for 1-2 minutes
  6. Rinse over sink 10X warm water, 5X cold water
  7. Pat dry with soft towel

Follow with a plant based oil / moisturizer such as Camellia Oil,  Jojoba Oil, Grapeseed oil.  I have an amazing botanical blend with over 20 oils and essential essences in it if you want to look at it on Etsy.  I offer customization with this, whereby you can have a favorite essential oil aroma added, or some papaya enzyme powder to really kick this formula up a notch.

Your skin is the largest organ of your body, and it is under constant abuse as well as use . Feeding your skin is twofold, you feed it through foods and liquids you ingest, and you feed it externally with…….well, what are you feeding your skin with on the outside?  Your skin loves hydration, moisture, protection and you, your skin loves you.  It protects you and holds everything together pretty darn well, dontcha think?

Feeding the skin externally with organic (whenever possible) plant based cold pressed oils, exfoliants, and essences, is a win win for you and your skin.  A naturally based fresh ingredient skin ritual based on botanicals (plants) is easily adapted to and will benefit the appearance and feel of your skin greatly. Luminous skin glows with health, you have seen that person, haven’t you?  The one who is glowing and has little makeup on, the one who looks radiant and fresh.  What is her secret?

Where to start? Let’s gain some knowledge together on the amazing yet simple ways you can cleanse, tone, smooth, soothe and protect your skin to achieve the “glow”.  Plants oils and extracts include items such as: The Holy grail “coconut oil”,  Aloe Vera Gel, Essential Oils (from plants, not synthetic perfumes), Clays, Muds, Exfoliants, Moisturizers like shea butter, oils from plants such as Argan Oil, Tamanu Oil, Grapeseed oil, Sea Buckthorn Oil and more should be in your bathroom, or on your list.  If you have never cleansed your face via the “Oil Cleansing Method”, you really won’t believe how amazing it is.

Ever wonder how, as a society,  we got so far away from nature? How is it that our government has allowed such harmful chemicals to be placed in our products and foods is the question.

I am dedicated to helping you and yours find healthy safe alternatives to harmful cosmetics and personal care items.  As well, I have a vast knowledge of skin challenges and helpful tips for acne, rosacea, scars, aging skin, psoriasis, eczema and more.  Share with me your skin challenges if a post I write is relevant to you, lets talk about what has worked for you and what has not.
