Chemo Head Painful Itchy Scalp

Jewelweed - has a long history of use in Native American medicine, western medicine, and is a staple that every home or hiker should have on hand! When applied topically, sap from the stem and leaves is said to quickly relieve itching and pain from a variety of ailments, including hives, poison ivy, stinging nettle, and other skin sores and irritations. The sap has also been shown to have anti-fungal properties.

Mullein Oil - is known to relieve pain, bruising, discomfort, reduce inflammation, and relax muscles in the head. 

Peppermint - helps relieves pain and is cooling on the skin

Rosemary helps relieve pain and is antibacterial

Calendula Oil - is a pharmacy all on it's own! is said to be healing, soothing, and extremely reparative

TIP: It is tempting to wear a wig, however it slows the hair growth significantly. Keep scalp clean and massage gently whenever you can, this stimulates growth while bringing blood and oxygen to the follicles. Don't be surprised if your hair comes back much different than it was prior to chemotherapy. One of the owners here at SkinFoodFix had chemotherapy and her hair come back very coily curly, and after two years it is still curly.

Apply to a dry scalp pre-shampoo, massage in well, and shampoo out. Then towel dry head, reapply lightly all over, and massage in lightly. Re-apply several times a day if needed. Putting a cotton beanie cap on your head after applying the oil can sometimes help to stop any itch for hours. However, it is best to let the head/scalp breathe for at least 8 hours a day or night.

For those with hair loss experiencing itching, pain, or uncomfortableness. This also works great on itching and pain of any type, bug bites, eczema, and psoriasis. Avoid private areas due to the peppermint. Safe to use on children and pets too! Always avoid eyes.

If your product arrives to you and has gotten warm in transit, simply place it in your refrigerator for an hour. Then remove and use! All-natural products are not stabilized with harsh synthetics and chemicals, and so they may become soft in too warm conditions.
