What is it? A non-oily moisturizer that does not irritate or clog pores. This organic and natural pure plant oil Squalane is from the pit of Olive and is a crystal clear thin light oil. Available in a 1 or 2-ounce glass bottle with pump

What is it for? Dermatitis, Perioral Dermatitis, Folliculitis Malassezia, oily skin, acne, Psoriasis/Eczema. Well received by the skin for its lightweight texture, this oil absorbs quickly to hydrate skin on a deep level without leaving behind an oily residue.

Directions: Use on face, eye area, lips, body, scalp, or hair. Apply to clean skin 2 times daily and massage in well. Leave it on the skin, it will absorb in fast. Perfect for anyone including babies!

If your skin is oily - then this would be all you need for moisture am and pm.
If your skin is normal - again, this will be perfect, but you may want to add a cream during the winter months.
If your skin is dry - this may very likely be enough, but you also may want to use this along with other moisturizers.

Tips: try eliminating sodium Laureth sulfate, which is a common lathering ingredient in facial cleansers, toothpaste and hair care, as a first step. I also recommend staying away from products or foods that contain cinnamon, peppers, nightshade vegetables. When it comes to skincare, Perioral Dermatitis likes it light, with mostly water and gel serum products, less is better. In general, you want to avoid lots of oils and heavy moisturizers on skin inflamed with Perioral Dermatitis

The Oil Cleansing Method helps to remove all makeup and leaves skin silky satin soft and clean - apply 4 drops to the skin, massage around lightly for 1 minute. Use a warm wet washcloth (both sides) to thoroughly remove all makeup. Splash face in warm water over skin 5-10 times and pat dry. Follow with a toner and a drop of the oil. Can be used near your eyes, no problem! If you have oily/acne-prone skin, you may like to cleanse again, with your cleanser of choice. This is not necessary, but some prefer this double cleansing method.

Anyone can use this on their skin, scalp, hair, and lips! In particular, it is one of the few things a person with Malassezia/Folliculitis can use. Folliculitis begins as small, pimple-like bumps that spread and turn into crusty sores.

Fun facts: Malassezia typically grows and thrives in warmer and humid climate because we are more likely to sweat when it’s hot outside, and sweat is made from lactic acids and salt, which in the presence of human skin lipids will cause Malassezia to proliferate/multiply.

Malassezia and Folliculitis live and thrive at a pH of 5.5 to 7.5, which is at the higher end of the acid mantle, or the normal pH of healthy human skin which is around 4.5. By using slightly acidic skincare, you can beat this problem.

Keep in mind that sensitization to Malassezia is most likely a combination of a damaged/dysfunctional acid mantle skin barrier, your genetic background, and environmental factors. You should always use proper skincare with a pH between 3 and 5. Soap or skin wash does not stay on your skin for more than a few seconds, and so they are not the root cause of the yeast-fungus, with the exception of the Oil Cleansing method, never use this method when you have this skin condition. It will just feed them and help them thrive. An exception to this rule of oil cleansing is the use of MCT oil, which is fine because it is a Medium Chain Triglyceride form which the yeast-fungus cannot "use" or benefit from skin products left on the skin.

The reason MCT oil does not cause any problems for those with Malassezia is that it’s made from caprylic (octanoic) and capric (decanoic) acid (C8 and C10 ), which are two fatty acids that are outside of that C11-24 range.

Lifestyle thoughts:

-Drink plenty of water daily.
-Supplements like Zinc, Fish Oil, Omegas, Pro-Biotics, MSM can help make a noticeable change in your skin and energy levels. Everything starts in your gut, and if you have digestive problems, then your skin will show it. Check your intake of carbs, sugar, and dairy and reduce it (this works well for SOME people)
-Change your pillowcase every day if possible.
-Keep hair very clean and washed daily. If the hair is longer, sweep it up away from the face and neck during the day and while you sleep.
-Avoid synthetic perfumes and body sprays.
-Exfoliate skin daily if possible, and use a mask 2 times a week.
-Don't pick at your skin, it really does make it worse and causes a new pimple to appear almost always!
